Notarized alpha

Plum 0.1.0

Build 23

Replacement build in progress

Apple Silicon · macOS 26.2 or later · ZIP, 2.9 MiB

Known issue: build 23 is not ready for normal testing. Open Plum can select an old local-only test volume with a 4 MiB journal, and Finder receives zero available-space counters. File copies may fail immediately. The primary download is paused while a corrected production-backed build is prepared. Keep originals outside Plum, and do not force an eject or delete its storage.

Managed alpha. Copied data only. This download is signed and notarized, but installing it does not provision a volume. Use your managed setup instructions and small copies of files. Keep the originals and a separate backup.

In this release

Installing for the first time

  1. Download and unpack the ZIP, then move Plum Probe.app into Applications. The bundle keeps this name for compatibility; the app appears as Plum.
  2. Open Plum from Applications. Follow the provided managed setup instructions before using a test volume.
  3. Start with a few small, copied files. This is not a primary backup or a destination for your existing home folders.

Updating an existing installation

Build 23 does not have a built-in updater. Updates are manual.

  1. Finish any file operations and eject the Plum volume normally. If it cannot eject cleanly, stop and use the existing recovery instructions; don’t force it.
  2. Quit Plum and ensure its storage processes have stopped. A normal Mac restart may be needed before replacing an older test build.
  3. Follow your managed update instructions, preserving your storage, keys and Recovery Kit. Never replace an app bundle while its volume or storage processes are active.

What is still being validated

Complete mounted cloud workflows, sustained performance, long-term reliability and independent recovery are not claimed as passed by this release. Apple notarization is a distribution check, not proof of those storage properties.
